 +The Ebon Circle sees themselves as an independent collective that are joined by mutual respect and cooperation to gain, implement, and protect knowledge in the universe. They sometimes are known to sell goods both mundane and complex, always deemed as allowed for trade by the Ebon Circle's consensus. Gravitating towards sub-collectives based on activities and areas of study, loose internal confederations rely upon each other for resources and skills to achieve objectives that arise as challenges to natural order in the universe or to the Ebon Circle's interests.

 +Some members choose to remain cloistered in a ship that moves around accessible space. It serves as an archival flotilla of knowledge and technology to serve the Ebon Circle and, by careful proxy, the known universe. This ship, known as "The Black", is rumored to also protect a power artifact. The purpose or existence of the artifact is hotly debated, ranging from a deadly weapon to being simply a unique spacefaring tool that assists in keeping the location of The Black a secret. Only members of the Ebon Circle are capable of finding The Black and would die before revealing its location.

 +Ebon Circle members sometimes appear to commit acts of magic or great feats of advanced science at a whim, giving them an aura of mystery and sometimes resulting in apprehension from others. Ebon Circle members are sometimes witnessed communicating in a complicated language that is said to be ancient and as of yet undecipherable, even said to continually shift to avoid mathematical or AI decryption.
